Overview

We take the protection of your personal data seriously. We process personal data only in accordance with the GDPR (DSGVO) and the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG). This policy explains what data we collect when you use Android Testing Network, why we collect it, and the rights you have.

Hosting & Server Log Files

Our website is hosted on a dedicated server within the European Union. When you visit the site, the server automatically collects and stores information in log files that your browser transmits, namely: browser type and version, operating system, referrer URL, host name of the accessing device, time of the server request, and the IP address. This data is not merged with other data sources. Processing is based on Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the secure, stable operation of the website). Log data is retained only as long as necessary for security and operational purposes.

Data We Collect

We process personal data that you provide directly when using our service:

• App registration (clients):your email address and your app's Google Play store link. We use these to set up and run your testing cycle and to send you progress notifications.
• Tester pool (testers): your name, email address (the one tied to your Google Play account) and country. We use these to match you to suitable test cycles and to contact you about them.
• Sign-in: we send a one-time 6-digit code to your email to verify it and create a session. We store this code briefly (it expires after 10 minutes) and your email address for the session.

The legal basis is Art. 6 (1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract or pre-contractual steps) and, where applicable, Art. 6 (1)(a) GDPR (consent), which you can withdraw at any time with effect for the future.

Cookies

We use a single essential cookie named session to keep you signed in. It is strictly necessary for the service to function (authentication), set as HttpOnly and signed, and contains no tracking identifiers. We do not use advertising, analytics, or third-party tracking cookies. The legal basis is § 25 (2) TTDSG and Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR.

Email Delivery (Brevo)

To send transactional emails (login codes, registration confirmations and progress links) we use Brevo (Sendinblue GmbH, Köpenicker Str. 126, 10179 Berlin, Germany). Your email address and the message content are transmitted to Brevo solely to deliver these messages. Processing is based on Art. 6 (1)(b) and (f) GDPR. We have concluded a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR) with the provider.

Payment Processing

Payments are handled by external payment service providers — Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd., Ireland) and/or Lemon Squeezy (Lemon Squeezy, LLC, USA, acting as merchant of record). When you pay, the data required to process the transaction (e.g. name, email, payment details) is collected and processed directly by the respective provider under their own privacy policy. We do not receive or store your full card details. Processing is based on Art. 6 (1)(b) GDPR. Transfers to the USA are safeguarded by the provider's standard contractual clauses / applicable adequacy frameworks.

External Links & Services

Our site links to Google Play (to opt in to tests) and to a WhatsApp group (operated by WhatsApp Ireland Ltd. / Meta). When you follow these links you leave our site and the respective provider's privacy policy applies. We have no control over their data processing.

Data Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described above or as required by statutory retention obligations (e.g. commercial and tax law). Login codes expire after 10 minutes. Account and cycle data is deleted on request once there is no ongoing testing relationship and no legal obligation to retain it.

Your Rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

• access to your personal data (Art. 15 GDPR);
• rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR);
• erasure of your data (Art. 17 GDPR);
• restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR);
• data portability (Art. 20 GDPR);
• object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR);
• withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7 (3) GDPR).

SSL/TLS Encryption

For security, this site uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the https://prefix and the lock icon in your browser's address bar. When encryption is active, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.
